The quick thumb rule
For a standard residential building, budget around 0.4 cement bags per square foot of built-up area. So a 1000 sq ft house needs roughly 400 bags across the entire structure.

Different parts of the build consume very different amounts of cement:

- Cement = 21.4 × (1 / 5.5) ÷ 0.0347 ≈ 112 bags for the slab alone
